When you want to get the word out in your community, mailing list or group of friends about an upcoming party, it's hard to beat a flyer. Fliers are quick to make and are traditionally created on a standard piece of 8.5 in. by 11 in. copy paper. Think of the blank piece of paper as your canvas and create a flyer that will have guests lining up at the door. Does this Spark an idea?
Fantastic Photos
A flyer showing the great time people had at your last party may grab attention and make flyer recipients want to be a part of the next event. If you had someone taking pictures at your last party, upload them to a computer graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop or Windows Paint and edit the images. Use the programs' graffiti or color enhancing tools to tweak the pictures and make them look exciting, highlighting guests' faces, crazy outfits or the DJ and dance floor. You can also include photos on the flyer of the party locale. If your party is being held at an exciting new club with lots of cool dance cages, glowing dance floors and private cubbies, include some snapshots on the flyer to let guests know what they can expect and why they should RSVP.
Total Templates
Your computer has a range of options that can help you make fliers quickly using in-program templates. If you've got the Microsoft Office Suite, you'll have Microsoft Word and possibly Microsoft Publisher. Both programs have flyer templates you can use to take the brunt of the creation effort off your shoulders. Once you've opened a template, just change the words and information on the flyer to match your party, such as the time, date, location, dress code, entrance fee and other information. Don't forget information on directions and RSVP. Using a computer template doesn't lock you into the program's prescribed style; you can customize everything from the clip art included to the colors of the flyer to the way text looks and appears on the page.
Quotable Quotes
Capture attention on your flyer with a significant saying or a notable quote. Search quote websites such as Quote Garden to find quotations such as "Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's Party!'" (attributed to Robin Williams). Type or write the quote in large letters at the top of your flyer to attract attention (be sure to attribute the quote to the celebrity, musician or person who said it and add information about the movie, song or other place the quote comes from, where applicable). You can make an entire flyer out of party themed quotes (save room to include the important details about the actual party) or just let one be your attention grabber.
