Conch Salad

Conch is a species of sea snails. It is the Caribbean's chief and native food and is not very hard to find in the sea food section at supermarkets. A conch salad is a mixture of conch with onions, green and red peppers, cucumber and tomatoes. These ingredients are marinated in fresh lime juice and salad is then served cold on lettuce. Conch salad at a Halloween party can be served as an appetizer or with the main course.

Salmagundi

Pirates spent most time on the ocean, so whenever there was food shortage, they gathered all the leftovers and made a stew called salmagundi. A pirate salmagundi at a pirate Halloween party is a perfect dish to be served on hardtack biscuits. Salmagundi consists of chopped meat, chicken or turkey with vegetables and eggs, and is cooked with oil, vinegar and spices.

Cutlass Codfish Fritters

Seafood including shrimp, fish and crabs come to mind when you think of food for a pirate party. Codfish fritters are made with shreds of codfish, dipped in dough to make small ball-shaped pieces. At a Halloween party, codfish fritters act as a main course food and are served with tartar sauce or ketchup. You can also make fritters with another kind of fish if codfish is not available.

Puerto Rican Rice with Pigeon Peas

Puerto Rican rice with pigeon peas is a famous dish of the Caribbean. For your Halloween pirate party, this can be one of the main course dishes, as it is a hearty dish with rice, pork and peas. You can also play with the recipe and make it especially for your vegetarian guests by removing pork and adding more vegetables to it, such as egg plant.

Treasure Chest Cake

For dessert, you can have treasure chest cake from a bakery or you can make it at home if you're good with decorations. Treasure chest cake is the perfect sweet treat for your guests at the Halloween party. It's in a shape of treasure box loaded with coins, jewelry and money, all made up of cake.
