Making Birthday Invitations With Microsoft Programs

Create your own birthday party invitations.


When you're throwing a birthday party and you want the invitations to be as festive as the event you're planning, you can create those invitations with a computer program. You can create individualized cards with programs already on your computer. You can also use free software trials to design the invitations.


Instructions


Microsoft Publisher Birthday Invitation


1. Open the birthday invitation creator. Click the "File" tab and select "New." Choose "Blank Pages." Scroll down to "Greeting Cards." Select the type of invitation you wish to create. A pop-up will appear. Click "OK" to automatically insert three more pages for the inside pages and back page.


2. Create a text box to type in the birthday invitation greeting on the front. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Text Box." Draw the text box on your workspace. Click inside the text box to select the font, font size and font color. Type in the text.


3. Add clip art or photos to the front of the invitation. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Picture." Select "Clip Art" to insert clip art. Select "From File" to insert a photo.


4. Create a text box to type the birthday invitation information inside the card. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Text Box." Draw the text box. Create multiple text boxes to separate the information. Creating multiple text boxes enables you to move and enlarge your words. Click inside the text box to select the font, font size and font color. Type in your text.


5. Create a text box to add a special note on the back of the invitation. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Text Box." Draw the text box. Click inside the text box to choose the font, font size and font color. Add clip art or photos to the back. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Picture." Choose "Clip Art" to add clip art. Select "From File" to insert a photo.


6. Save the file and print it. Fold the invitation in half horizontally then vertically to finish creating your birthday invitation.

7. Open the birthday invitation creator. Click the "File" tab and select "New." Click on "Blank Document." Click on the "Create" tab. Click on the "Page Layout" tab. Select "Orientation" tab and click on "Landscape."


8. Change the margin sizes to create more workspace. Click the "Page Layout" tab and select "Margins." Click on the "Narrow" selection. This will change all the margins to 1/2 inch. Click on the "View" tab and click on "Ruler." This will turn on the vertical and horizontal rulers.


9. Create a text box to type in the birthday invitation of the front of the card. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Text Box." A drop-down menu will appear. Choose "Simple Text Box." Draw a 4-inch by 3-inch text box.


10. Create three more text boxes and place them on the page to divide it into four sections for the front, back and inside pages. Click inside the text boxes. Select the font, font size and font color. Type in the text.


11. Click the "Insert" tab and select "Picture" to add photos. A pop-up will appear. Choose your photo. Click on "Clip Art" to add clip art.


12. Save your file. Print the birthday invitation. Fold the birthday invitation to create a front, inside pages and back.
