Made from heat-treated carbon or stainless steel, they feature tamper-resistant double locks and smooth ratchets for quick application. All Smith & Wesson handcuffs are certified by the United States National Institute of Justice for strength, workmanship and tamper resistance. Models are available with lever locking, push-pin locking or slot locking options.
Model 100
The Smith & Wesson Model 100 is a standard two-link chain handcuff. It is available in nickel or blued finish, scratch-resistant black melonite, or any one of six bright, weather-resistant colors for prisoner categorization or department identification. The Model 100 offers all three locking mechanisms as options. The Model 100L features a four-link chain for cuffing prisoners with larger body mass.
Model 1 Universal
Model 1 Universal handcuffs are available with two-link chain or hinge-connected options. These are heavier-duty cuffs than Model 100s and feature a larger wrist opening and a longer overall length. The Model 1 Universal comes standard with a push-pin locking mechanism.
Model 103
Model 103 handcuffs have the same specifications as the Model 100 but are made of stainless steel. They are available with either slot-lock or push-pin locking mechanisms.
Model 104 Maximum Security
These handcuffs are designed for restraining high-risk inmates and require a specially designed key. They cannot be unlocked with a standard key. The keyhole bushing is also specific to this model. The Model 104 is available only in nickel finish with a slot-lock or push-pin locking mechanism.
Model 110
Used for restraining prisoners with large wrists or for locking prisoners' forearms together, Model 110 handcuffs have a larger wrist opening and a chain-and-swivel design. They are available in nickel or blue finish with a slot-locking mechanism only.
Model 300
Model 300 handcuffs are joined with a carbon-treated steel hinge, rather than a chain, to further restrict movement. They are available in nickel or blue finish with a slot-lock or push-pin locking mechanism.
