Mickey Mouse Birthday Party Invitation Ideas

The right invitations can really help make your party.

When it comes to universally appealing birthday themes, you can't go wrong with Disney and Mickey Mouse. Appropriate for both a kids party or an adult affair, Mickey Mouse provides an excellent and fertile topic to work with when planning your themed event. To kick things off properly, you will want to put together some imaginative invitations. Does this Spark an idea?

The Subtle Mickey Invite

Since he was first created in 1928, Mickey Mouse has become something of a household name. As with many such icons, it is wholly possible to infer Mickey Mouse's presence and influence on an event without ever actually picturing him. Black hats with black ears, red shorts with white buttons, yellow shoes and white gloves are all synonymous with Mickey Mouse. Create invitations that take advantage of his fame by featuring only these parts and pieces. Design each invitation around one separate piece of Mickey memorabilia, or create simple black and white invitations with a border of gloves, shorts and shoes. This style works extremely well for a more sophisticated, adult party.

The Creative Mickey Invite

If you are in the position where you can hand-deliver your invitations, then there is no reason not to get a little more creative with your Mickey Mouse invitations. Mickey Mouse ear hats can be purchased from Disney directly and then used as a clever invitation. Simply attach a card with the party information to one of the ears and you have an invite that will have everyone talking.

Edible Invitations

Another delicious, hand-delivered option for a Mickey Mouse invitation is a Mickey Mouse cookie invitation. Make simple sugar cookie dough and roll it out onto a flat surface. Use two differently sized round cookie cutters to cut out head and ear shapes. Stick the ears onto the sides of the main head shape and bake the cookie at 350 degrees. Frost your Mickey head cookies with the colors of your party, and pipe the words "You're Invited" onto them using a decorating tip and some icing. Allow the icing to set, and then wrap each cookie in cellophane. Tie the cellophane with red, white, yellow and black curling ribbon, and attach a note with the party details to the ribbon. Just like that, you have an invitation that will leave your guests hungry for more.
