Outdoor Beach Party Decorations

An outdoor beach party is enjoyable for guests of any age.

Whether you live on a beach, in the mountains or near the rolling plains of the Midwest, you can turn virtually any setting into a beach party oasis. With just a bit of imagination and the right decorations, create a beach party atmosphere worthy of The Beach Boys.

Backyard Set-Up

Turn your backyard into a beach scene with a variety of beach chairs and beach balls. Hang striped beach towels and bathing suits from the clothesline and scatter large beach umbrellas around the yard to provide shade. If kids will be at the party, fill a sandbox with buckets and shovels.

On the Beach

If your beach party actually is being held at the beach, allow the shimmering sand and sparking waters to take center stage as your party backdrop. Line the perimeter of the party area with tiki torches or hanging lanterns. Drape tables with lightweight fabrics that flutter in the breeze. If you will be partying into the night, build a small fire pit for guests to enjoy.

Table Decorations

Cover tables with a fabric tablecloth in a soft color, such as blue, green or pale yellow. Fill tall vases or colorful buckets with sand and nestle flickering tealight candles into the sand at the top of each one, For your table centerpiece, fill a large plastic bucket with sand and arrange seashells on top. Scatter seashells and starfish along the length of the table.

Balloons

Colorful balloons provide a festive party atmosphere for any party theme. Use balloons in beach-related colors, such as blue, light green and pale yellow. Since you will be outside, be sure to tie down your balloons tightly to tables, chairs or fences. If you are feeling creative, make a few balloon palm trees, as shown by the Theme Parties "N" More website.
