Surprise Anniversary Invitation Wording

Celebrate a wedding anniversary with a surprise party for the couple.

Celebrate the wedding anniversary of a loved one by throwing a surprise anniversary party. One of the biggest obstacles in planning a surprise party is keeping the surprise from the couple while informing family and friends about the party. Create your guest list and send everyone invitations that make it clear by the wording that the party should be kept a secret from the couple.

Instructions

1. Use a phrase or term on the front of the invitation that stresses the party will be a surprise to the couple. A simple "Shhh" or "We're going to celebrate, but it's a surprise!" will work.

2. Write the couple's names on the inside of the invitation, along with the number of years they have been married, so potential guests know who is being surprised. This will keep them from spilling the beans about the party and get them excited to join the celebration. For example:

"Join us as we celebrate

Jenna and Mark's 10th wedding anniversary"

3. Include a short poem or verse about love, marriage, the specific anniversary being celebrated or something specific to the couple, if you want. Write your own or use the couple's favorite verse or a poem from their original wedding invitations.

4. List the party details as you normally would. Include the date, time and location for the party as well as your name and contact information. Listing your details should avoid potential guests from contacting the couple.
