Things Couples Can Do For Fun

Try teaching each other activities you enjoy.

Whether you're in the beginning stages of your relationship or have enjoyed many years together, always remember to spend time doing activities you both enjoy. Look for activities that will bring you closer, such as taking a tango dance class or going rock climbing together.

Sports-Related Activities

Couples who are into sports and fitness can take bicycle tours. Map out your own route or register for a tour of farms and other attractions in your community.

Other sports-related ideas include hitting the batting cages or driving range, joining a community softball or basketball league together or taking skiing and snowboarding day trips and vacations together.

Road Trips

Plan a road trip together that can include stopping at assorted points of interest and attractions, such as visiting Lucy the Elephant in northern New Jersey or climbing the Statue of Liberty on your way to a weekend getaway in Maine.

Other notable areas to explore include the Pacific Coast Highway in California, the Blue Ridge Parkway from Virginia's Shenandoah National Park to the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina, or the wide open West, including Mesa Verde in Colorado, Four Corners and the Grand Canyon.

Beach Fun

Spend a day or weekend relaxing on the beach. Bring boogie boards, surfboards and volleyball nets for some calorie-burning fun or take jogs together along the coast. Those who live near the West Coast can roller blade at Venice Beach in California while those near the East Coast might consider booking a weekend at a bed and breakfast in New Jersey's Cape May. Spending time at the beach doesn't have to be all outdoors; couples who enjoy gambling might want to take in a show at an Atlantic City casino in between playing the tables.

Dance Lessons

Couples who enjoy dancing can take dance classes together. Choose from a variety of dance style options such as ballroom dancing including the waltz, tango, salsa, quick step and contemporary dancing. Other options include tap, ballet, country line dancing, swing and hip hop. Engaged couples might consider dance classes to prepare for their wedding dance, either in a class or through private lessons. Couples fitness classes that feature dance moves are also options.
