Starwood Hotels In Maui Hawaii

Starwood Hotels owns three hotels in Maui, as of 2010. Under its Westin brand, Starwood runs the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali as well as the the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas. Under its Sheraton brand, Starwood runs the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. All three hotels are located right on the ocean, and offer visitors a unique glimpse of island culture, plus snorkeling, surfing and luaus.

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali sits right on Ka'anapali's famous Black Rock. Suites feature both mountain and ocean views, and guests can lounge on chairs on the beach or at one of the hotel's multiple, elaborately landscaped pools. The hotel is also home to the Heavenly Spa, an award-winning, 15,000-square-foot facility that features a yoga studio, 16 treatment rooms and a full-service salon. For guests seeking an authentic Hawaiian experience, the hotel hosts Hawaiian folk artists, luaus and on-site surfing lessons. Hungry guests will want to check out one of the hotel's four restaurants and bars: Tropica serves fresh seafood; the 'Ono Bar & Grill has Hawaiian-style favorites and hamburgers; the Collonnade Cafe is a bistro that serves coffee and pastries; and the Moonlight Lounge is a poolside bar that features wine, beer and appetizers.

The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas

The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas are partially privately owned as vacation homes and partially open for guests. This Westin offers both traditional hotel rooms as well as spacious one- or two-bedroom villas, and all are equipped with large showers and whirlpool tubs. In addition to the hotel's beaches, guests can also swim in several freshwater, manmade lagoons, and there is a pirate ship-style pool area designed for children. Guests looking for some authentic Hawaiian activities can sign up for classes in lei making, hula lessons, jewelry making and more. As for culinary options, the villas offer Ocean Pool Bar & Grill; Pailolo Bar & Grill, a casual bistro; and Pulehu, an Italian restaurant.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa

Starwood's 23-acre Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is located on Ka'anapali Beach, right on Black Rock like its sister hotel, the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali. This Sheraton has 508 rooms, and almost all of these rooms overlook the Pacific Ocean. The hotel is elaborately decorated to reflect ancient Hawaiian style. Visitors to the Sheraton Maui can spend time snorkeling, sailing, kayaking and scuba-diving, in addition to witnessing one of the hotel's hosted luaus or torch lighting and cliff diving ceremonies. The hotel also offers the Spa at Black Rock, a 142-yard swimming lagoon and an outdoor Jacuzzi. The hotel's on-site dining options include Black Rock Steak & Seafood, Keka'a Terrace and Teppan-yaki Dan. The hotel's full-service bars include the Cliff Room, the Mai Tai Bar and the Reef's Edge Lounge.

Other Hotels

In 2008, Starwood Hotels announced plans to open an additional resort by the end of 2011. The new hotel will be located on North Ka'anapali Beach, and will have around 380 villas.
