Things To Do In Hawaiian Village

With over 20 acres of grounds, you could spend your entire Hawaiian vacation without leaving the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach.

The resort makes sure there is plenty to do for all ages. Purchasing activities in blocks may be a more economical way to go; either book your activities before you arrive, or ask the concierge for help once you get there.

Pools

Aside from the vast expanse of the soft, white Waikiki Beach sand nearby, the Village offers six swimming pools and one saltwater lagoon for its guests.

The Duke Kahanamoku saltwater lagoon, located at the rear of the resort, is perfect for young children and has a view of the ocean just beyond it. A pump system keeps the water clean. Here, surf instructors offer a brief class and lecture on the history of surfing, free to guests.

The Super Pool has water slides, a huge swimming area and a nearby bar.

The Keiki Pool is a Super Pool offshoot and is designed for keiki, or kids, with shallow water.

The Tapa Pool has refreshment stands nearby and is recommended for night swimming.

Two pools are more private, available to only certain guests. The Kalia Tower pool is for guests of Kalia Tower and the Mandara Spa. The Ali'i Tower pool is for guests of the Ali'i Tower.

Atlantis Submarines

From the Hawaiian Village, embark on a tour of sunken ships, reefs and marine life 120 feet below the ocean. A ship takes people to the dive site from the Port Hilton dock on the hour, weather permitting. There is an extra fee for the voyage, and reservations must be made in advance.

Mandara Spa

For relaxed pampering, check out the Mandara Spa. Get a haircut and a mani-pedi, a massage or body treatment. The spa offers 25 varieties. you can also use the fitness center and pool.

Kids' Programs

For some kid-free time, sign up keiki for the kids' programs at the Hawaiian Village. It offers full- or half-day programs, takes them on field trips to local attractions and keeps them occupied with crafts and other fun activities.

WaterSport Rentals

AquaCycles, kayaks and boogie boards are all available to rent. AquaCycles are the easiest for novices to use because the cycles use a bicycle-pedaling motion to move them across the water. Life jackets are always recommended. But don't worry about falling in; the coldest Hawaiian water gets is 75 degrees.

Additionally, the Village offers private or group surfing lessons.

All rentals and lessons are available from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Luau

The Waikiki Starlight Luau is a show, a dinner and a history lesson all in one. Fire-eaters and hula-dancers abound, and guests are even invited to participate in some of the dances. Getting a photo of dad doing the hula is always a fun addition to the family album.

Fees vary, depending on seating. Children are less expensive.
