What To Expect At All Inclusive Resorts

What to Expect at All Inclusive Resorts

Often referred to as the most cost-effective vacations, all-inclusive resorts are a popular option when vacationing. Most all-inclusive resorts are in the Caribbean basin and tropical climates, so beaches and the oceans are major attractions for vacationers.

Accommodations

Guest suites at all-inclusive resorts generally include a king or two double beds, a TV, telephone and a private bathroom. Many all-inclusive resorts also have in-room mini-bars and in-room safes.

Amenities

Most all-inclusive resorts feature multiple swimming pools, a spa, a fitness center and tour assistance. Some all-inclusive resorts have either an on-site or nearby golf course and tennis courts. Some resorts also have children's programs.

Dining

All meals, snacks and beverages are included in the room rate. Many all-inclusive resorts have several on-site restaurants and bars from which to choose.

Activities

All-inclusive resorts often include land and water activities in the room rate. Popular activities include nonmotorized water sports such as paddle boats, snorkeling and scuba diving. Also included are land sports such as beach volleyball.

Taxes and Gratuities

For a true no-worry vacation, all taxes and gratuities are included in the room rates. In fact, most all-inclusive resorts forbid tipping.

What's Not Included

Additional charges may apply to motorized water sports, such as jet skis and motor boats, in-room safes, off-property tours and excursions and transportation to and from the resort.
