Destination weddings in Hawaii are beautiful and relaxing.
Planning a destination wedding in Hawaii is a big decision, but also an exciting one, Hawaii is a beautiful, sought-after place to have a gorgeous wedding, and your guests will love living in luxury for a few days as well. Perfect weather, beaches and amazing landscapes are the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding day.
Instructions
1. Choose the island on which you'll have the wedding ceremony and reception. While every island is gorgeous, you can still weigh your options. Oahu is the most populated and energetic island, perfect for youthful wedding parties. "The Big Island," technically the island of Hawaii, has volcanoes that you can check out by visiting the National Park. Maui is considered the most romantic island.
2. Decide what time of year you'd like to have your wedding. Luckily, this has more to do with personal preference than weather considerations, since the weather in Hawaii is practically perfect year-round. Temperature are typically in the 70s or 80s. From May to October, the weather is a bit more warm and dry than during the winter months. Rainfall comes down in short spurts and most likely won't ruin your wedding day, assuming you're planning an outdoor or beach wedding.
3. Visit the marriage licensing agent or the health department that's located on the island you've chosen. You'll need to show your proof of age with a valid I.D., and you'll need cash in order to get your marriage license.
4. Have both English and Hawaiian spoken at your wedding ceremony. This is particularly important if you or your spouse is of Hawaiian decent. Having part of the ceremony spoken in native Hawaiian will show respect for your culture and family members.
5. Adorn yourself, your bridal party and your guests with Hawaiian leis made from fresh, tropical blooms. Leis are a necessary part to any Hawaiian wedding.
