Spraychestra
This is a fun water game for kids who love to make music. If you have a fence or wash line, use string or rope to hang various objects from them; you can even utilize a row of bushes. Items to use may include; cups, pots, pans, beach balls, bowls with lids and old hubcaps. Give the kids water guns or let them use a hose to spray the objects with water. Each object they blast with water makes a distinctive sound. They can aim for specific objects in any order to create a tune.
Dribble Dribble Drench Water Game
Similar to the childhood game "duck duck goose" but this game involves a bucket of water and a sponge. Fill a bucket with water and grab a sponge. Have the children sit in a circle. One child gets the sponge wet with water and walks around the circle of children, dripping drops of water on their heads. When she gets to a person she chooses, she drops or squeezes all the water out of the sponge. Then that person will have to chase her around the circle to get back to where she started without being tagged.
Musical Sprinkler Freeze
This is a fun water game that involves music and being silly, all the things kids love. Set up a sprinkler in your yard and keep it turned off. Play music and let the kids run around the yard dancing and acting silly. When the sprinkler is turned on, they freeze in whatever position they are in and get soaked until the sprinkler is turned off again.
Sponge War
This water game is simple yet so much fun for kids. Put a bunch of yellow kitchen sponges in a big tub or bucket of water. Let the kids grab the sponges and throw them at each other.
