Rain is the last thing most tourists want on their vacation to Maui, but the good news is there are still memorable things to do, despite what the weather may have in store. Visitors to Maui can pamper themselves at a local spa, visit the Maui Ocean Center or enjoy the renowned 'Ulalena show at the Lahaina Theatre.
Visit the Maui Ocean Center
The Maui Ocean Center showcases unique marine life found in Hawaii. While there are both indoor and outdoor exhibits, there is much to see with the indoor exhibits. Visitors can get up close and personal with jellyfish, sharks and manta rays and learn about Hawaii's coral reefs, tropical fish and larger animals, including sea turtles, whales and spinner dolphins. Indoor exhibits include hands-on activities for children.

Enjoy a Dinner Show
'Ulalena is an indoor theatrical presentation of Hawaiian myths, legends and culture. Stories include that of the Kumulipo, believed by ancient Hawaiians to be the story of creation; Pele, the volcano goddess; and Hina, the moon goddess. Shows incorporate the art of hula, theatrical performances and acrobatics. A unique, one-of-a-kind indoor performance at the Maui Theatre in Lahaina can add to your vacation experience, despite the weather conditions.

Pamper Yourself
There are quite a number of spa retreats and treatments with which you can pamper yourself. Vacationers can inquire directly with their hotel or resort to see if spa amenities are available. While not all spas include panoramic ocean views, many do have traditional arts of healing and massage such as Hawaiian stone therapy, lomi lomi (traditional Hawaiian massage), sea salt exfoliations and seaweed wraps.
