Royal Hawaiian Destination

Beauty and tranquility await families, newlyweds and business travelers in Hawaii.

Nicknamed "The Pink Palace" and located on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, the Royal Hawaiian has been a landmark resort since 1927. It has housed royalty, celebrities and, during World War II, the Pacific Fleet. After what has been almost a century in existence, it has undergone multiple renovations and currently serves a variety of travelers who appreciate its ability to be the destination of choice for business, weddings, relaxation and adventure.

Business

The Royal Hawaiian hotel touts 12,000 square feet of indoor space for meetings. An additional 66,000 square feet is available outdoors. There are five indoor spaces from which to choose and all contain sound and light equipment. Catering is available with the option to completely customize the menu.

A total of 528 private rooms may be reserved for guests.

Weddings

The Royal Hawaiian offers five destinations for weddings or vow renewal ceremonies. Indoors, the Monarch Room overlooks the ocean and accommodates large parties. The Regency Ballroom may accommodate as few as 50 guests and provides greater intimacy. Outdoors, couples choose between the Ocean Lawn, the Coconut Grove and the Helumoa Gardens.

Relaxation

One key place to relax at the Royal Hawaiian is the Abhasa Spa. According to the website Top 50 Spas of America, Abhasa ranked number five. The spa is unique in that its staff performs massages and other treatments outdoors within a tropical garden. Additional services include body wraps, facials, and care for hair and nails.

In addition to Abhasa, the Royal Hawaiian's guests may relax by dining out at the hotel's restaurants Azure, Surf Lanai and the Mai Tai Bar.

Adventure

The Royal Hawaiian provides several opportunities for adventure, many of which are family friendly. These include swimming with dolphins and Hanauma Bay snorkeling excursions. A short walk or drive away, families can enjoy the Waikiki Aquarium, Hawaiian Adventures Water Park, Honolulu Zoo and the Hawaiian Water Sports Center.

Replacing the typical hotel swimming pool is a unique complex called the Helumoa Playground. Guests at the Helumoa Playground can sign up for hula lessons, learn make leis and race down water slides. Likewise, guests who choose to enjoy the hotels beachfront can sign up for surf lessons, boogie-boarding and canoe rides.
