Senior Activities In Honolulu

Honolulu offers plenty of activities for seniors.

There are certainly worse places to grow old than in Honolulu. Not just because of the sunshine, beaches and balmy weather, but because the county and city governments run many activities and programs for its senior citizens. With the wide variety of senior clubs and organizations in Honolulu, older people are sure to find things they like to do and develop friendships with those with common interests.

The county offers various options for seniors, including an island-wide senior club program. The 40 different clubs hold weekly meetings, along with luncheons, guest speakers, trips and community service opportunities. Each February, the Department of Parks and Recreation hosts a Seniors Valentine Dance. In March, there's the Oahu Primetime Wellness Fair, and April heralds Tryfest, an event featuring various types of physical activities, including aerobics and yoga.
