September Travel To Hawaii

The islands of Hawaii are popular tourist destinations year-round.

The Hawaiian Islands are popular vacation destinations. Travelers visit Hawaii for the beautiful weather, beaches and scenery. The islands have landscaping that ranges from beaches and farms to volcanoes, mountains and rainforests. Each island is different and each features resorts, hotels and vacation rentals for visitors. Any month is a good month to visit Hawaii, especially September.

Weather

The average temperature in Hawaii year-round is 76 degrees. The highest monthly average temperature is in September and comes in at 86 degrees. September is one of the warmest months in the Hawaiian Islands.

Prices

The peak season in Hawaii is December through April. May through November finds lower prices and fewer crowds in Hawaii. September generally is the month most children go back to school and, consequently, one of the slowest travel months of the year.

Rainfall

September is not part of Hawaii's rainy season. However, September is in the middle of Hurricane season and Hawaii is at risk from any potential hurricanes. If you plan on traveling to Hawaii in September, consider purchasing travel insurance just in case a hurricane threatens your vacation.

Inter-island travel

September is an off-season month in Hawaii and features many travel discounts. Hotel and airfare prices drop, and with the lower cost of your vacation, inter-island travel is more feasible. Day and overnight trips are available between the six major islands in Hawaii. September has fewer crowds and inter-island flight packages are less expensive.

Events

Another reason September is a good month to travel to Hawaii is for their festivals. Hawaiians celebrate their annual Aloha Festival in September. The Aloha Festival features live music, vendors and hula performances and is held on Waikiki's Kalakaua Avenue. Other Hawaiian festivals that are celebrated in September include various food and arts festivals.
