Pluckemin Inn


The Pluckemin Inn is in a home reconstructed to appear like a 19th-century estate, located in the town of Bedminster. The restaurant held Zagat dining guide ratings of "extraordinary to perfection" for its food, decor and service as of October 2010.


The restaurant's menu changes monthly to incorporate the freshest local and organic ingredients possible. Past seafood dishes include wild Alaskan halibut cauliflower and hazelnuts and poached lobster with sopressata. Featuring 4,900 selections, the wine list has previously won the "Best of Award of Excellence," the second-highest award given by "Wine Spectator" magazine. A staff sommelier is available to help diners navigate the list and pick the perfect glass or bottle to accompany their dinners.


The Pluckemin Inn serves lunch Monday through Friday and dinner nightly. Reservations are highly recommended. In cold weather, ask for seating near the restaurant's fireplace for romantic ambiance. During warmer months, request a table on the outdoor patio for views of the grounds. Business casual attire is the norm.

Pheasants Landing


Pheasants Landing is at the intersection of Amwell and Willow roads in Hillsborough. The restaurant earned Zagat ratings of "very good to excellent" for its service and "good to very good" for its food and decor.


The menu at Pheasants Landing changes at least seasonally, though some dinners, like the fish and chips, are typically available all year. Other past seafood dishes include grilled Idaho brook trout in lemon sauce and shrimp with Kalamata olives and feta cheese over penne pasta. The bar serves 13 wines by the glass and one dozen draft and 14 bottled beers as well as a variety of spirits.


Pheasants Landing serves lunch Tuesday through Friday and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant closes Mondays. Reservations are highly recommended and required for parties of five or more. Outdoor seating is available in warm weather. Business casual is the attire. The restaurant has a children's menu as well as booster seats and highchairs. Live music is featured regularly in the pub section of the establishment.
