A red carpet party is a popular themed event when the Hollywood awards ceremonies roll around each year. Whether you are throwing a viewing party for friends or hosting an elegant red carpet reception for a birthday, wedding or fundraiser, red carpet tables makes your guests feel like stars as they dine. Red Carpet Table
Translate the red carpet to the table with a rich red tablecloth. Sprinkle some glitter or confetti over it before setting places. If your red carpet party is celebrating an awards ceremony, use a tall table surrounded by director's chairs to make all of your guests feel like stars. Put bottles of champagne directly on the table or place a freestanding silver champagne bucket to the side of the table.
Place Settings
Make place mats by cutting out cardboard stars and spray painting them gold to evoke the Hollywood walk of fame. Use white dinnerware or china for a formal event; provide champagne flutes and use wine glasses for the water. If you are hosting a more casual event, use black and gold paper plates. For name cards, write guests' names on "tickets" to your red carpet event and place them at each seat in a gold or silver place card holder.
Centerpiece
Reference old Hollywood with a luscious feather centerpiece. Combine large plumes of white or black ostrich feathers in a tall glass vase with battery-powered floral lights, or mix a dramatic bouquet of red roses and red feathers. Arrange tea lights, luminaries or floating candles along the center of the table to add ambiance and romance to your red carpet evening. Also scatter a few rose petals around the table.
Swag Bags
A red carpet event couldn't be complete without glitzy swag bags. Fill gold gift bags with fun gifts and treats, and place one at each seat. Look for costume jewelry, Mardi Gras-style bead necklaces, chocolate and sweets, disposable cameras, body glitter or lip gloss, and spa items. Stuff the bag with tissue paper, toss in a handful of confetti and perhaps top it off with a single rose.
