Kauai offers more than just surfing, it offers great food.


Not a city, but a county in the State of Hawaii, Kauai stands as the oldest and the farthest north of all the Hawaiian Islands. The island of Kauai offers golf, horseback riding, fishing, hiking and many more outdoor activities. Catching a great meal on the island of Kauai comes as no surprise. Duke's Kauai


Located on the sand at the Kauai Marriott, Duke's is named after Hawaiian legend Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing, 20-year Olympic athlete and movie star. The dining room menu at Duke's includes fresh seafood, prime steaks and island favorites. Seafood selections include Seared Seven-Spice Ahi, Macadamia Nut Pesto Linguini and fresh fish "Duke's Style"---fish baked in a garlic, lemon and sweet basil glaze. If steaks and prime ribs delight the palate, order the Chinese Style Beef Short Ribs or maybe the Prime Teriyaki Sirloin (Grilled USDA Prime beef marinated in shoyu, ginger and garlic). The only dessert on the menu is Kimo's Original Hula Pie. Servers tell guests of any other desserts offered.

The Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant


The Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant sits along the Hanalei River. It is open daily for cocktails and appetizers, lunch and dinner. Since 1977 the Dolphin has served fresh catch-of-the-day fish, sushi and steaks. The appetizer menu includes sashimi (based on what's fresh that day), Carpaccio and ceviche---ono (king mackerel) and shrimp, marinated in lime juice and mixed with red onions, chili and cilantro. Entrées on the menu include fresh fish served charbroiled or seasoned with Cajun spices and blackened, Beef Tenderloin, Vegan Celebration Roast and Haole Chicken---two 6 ounce boneless chicken breasts breaded with seasoning and Parmesan cheese, sautéed, and served with sweet and sour sauce. The Dolphin also serves a variety of locally made organic cakes and the Homemade Dolphin Ice Cream Pie for dessert.

Bar Acuda


Bar Acuda is a tapas restaurant and wine bar, owned and operated by Chef Jim Moffatt. Chef Moffatt's travels to the Mediterranean and other parts of Europe help inspire his culinary creations. The tapas menu includes Banderillas (grilled flank steak skewers with honey and chipotle chili oil), Bacalao (warm salt codfish with garlic, potatoes, cream and crostini) as well as Grilled rib eye steak with salsa verde and steak fries. Desserts on the menu include Chocolate pot de crème, date spice cake with warm toffee sauce and Affogato (vanilla ice cream and a shot of espresso). According to the restaurant, most of its produce, poultry and fish come from organic farms guided by principles of sustainability. Bar Acuda's wine list includes a number of white and red selections along with specialty cocktails and dessert wines. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
