The Best Days At Disney World Parks

Cinderella Castle

Some of the best days at Disney World parks are the special celebrations. Disney cast members put out an extra effort to decorate to the theme of the celebrations, and extra magic is everywhere in the costuming, flower arrangements, rides and activities. Plan your next trip around one of these celebrations, and it will be a truly special Disney vacation.

Star Wars weekends

In late May and early June, Disney's Hollywood Studios park is transformed for Star Wars weekends. The characters are dressed in Star Wars costumes, and there are guest appearances by stars from the movies. Autograph sessions, trivia contests and prize give-aways are held, and there is a Catina street party with live music.

The Flower and Garden Festival

From March until May, Epcot Center is transformed for the Flower and Garden Festival. Disney gardeners create topiary designs of everything Disney, from characters to coaches. Nationally famous gardeners appear and give advice. Plants from around the world are showcased, and special care is given to teach green gardening and conservation to young people.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

On select dates in September and October, the Magic Kingdom is haunted by Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Held after the regular park closing, guests are encouraged to dress up in costume. There is a special Halloween parade, Halloween fireworks show and trick-or-treating for guests. Most of the rides are open, and the lines are shorter than usual.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

On select dates in November and December, the Magic Kingdom holds Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party after regular park hours. There is a special Christmas parade and Christmas fireworks show. All costumed characters are in their holiday finery. Most rides are open, with very short lines. Cocoa and cookies are given out. As a special treat on a warm Florida evening, Disney magic creates real snow on Main Street USA.

Epcot's Food and Wine Festival

For six weeks every autumn, Epcot Center holds its annual Food and Wine Festival. The World Showcase is transformed into a market for the world's cuisine. 25 cities are represented, and tapas-sized portions of each city's best offerings are sold, along with regional wines to go with them. From Buenos Ares to Bangkok--from Marrakesh to New Orleans--the tastes of the world are here. Special events are also held throughout the festival including wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, autographs sessions with famous chefs and gourmet food parties.
