Disney resorts offer a world of fun for kids.
Kids love to spend their holidays at Disney resorts because they are filled with non-stop fun and excitement. Most of the resorts are presented with a specific theme; each one is unique and inviting. Whether it's a mini-amusement park, an amazing pool with a twist slide, or an agenda filled with adventures and exploration trips, each Disney Resort provides a vacation to remember.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is designed as an African-style lodge that's built on 43 acres of wildlife preserve. The architecture is the kraal African-village landscape design with wide-open views of the surrounding savanna. Kids will get a close-up glimpse of the 30 species of wildlife; they may also observe the exotic animals through special glass alcoves in the resort. There is an amazing view of the indigenous shrubs and grassland, and two restaurants serve authentic African cuisine.
The highlights are the pools, which include the Uzima pool, an 11,000 square foot, zero-depth entry pool with a 67-foot long slide, and a small kids' wading pool. There's a 24-hour high-tech game room and a 24-hour playground, as well as the Simba's Clubhouse, which is a supervised play center for kids between the ages of three and 12.

The Contemporary Report
This lakeside Contemporary Report is an ultra-modern Disney deluxe resort that resembles the iconic Contemporary Tower. It is the closest resort to the Magic Kingdom theme park; it's the only resort to have the Walt Disney World Monorail System pass right through the main lobby, making traveling to the parks a unique convenience. Kids will get a view of Space Mountain and the Cinderella Castle as they dine on the 15th floor at the California Grill. The sprawling grounds of the resort feature a marina, restaurants, recreational facilities, a health club and several tennis courts. One of the two pools on the white sandy beach has a 17-foot winding slide; there is also a wading pool. Kids will also enjoy the 24-hour, high-tech games room.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Disney's Yacht Club Resort, recognized as being environmentally green, consists of public areas -- as well as five stories of rooms and suites -- that are all adorned in dark wood and wicker furniture, portholes, and simulated captain's wheels. Resort staff is dressed in ship crew navy regalia, including navy blazers and captains hats. The resort overlooks Stormalong Bay, which is three acres of lagoons filled with a life-size replica of a wrecked ship with water slides, a slow river to float along in inner tubes and a sand-bottom pool. Next to that is Crescent Lake, where guests can rent watercraft and pedal boats; they may take a private cruise on the lake during the day and watch fireworks at night. Along the sandy white beach are the Yachtsman Steakhouse, which offers delicious steaks and seafood for family dining, and the Ship Shape Health Club that sponsors stare of the art exercise equipment. Kids will enjoy the 24-hour playground and the 24-hour, high-tech game room, as well as the Sandcastle Club, which is a supervised activity center for children between the ages of three and 12.
