Message in a Bottle
Visit a party supply store for graduation confetti. The confetti comes in traditional black, white and silver, as well as colored versions and features cutouts of the graduation year, graduation caps and other items. Print out your own invitations or make the invitations on printer paper. Burn or tear the edges to make the paper look older. Slide the paper into a plastic bottle and fill the bottle with a small amount of sand and the graduation confetti. When the recipient gets her bottle and pulls out the invitation, they're also treated to the sand and confetti---part of your party theme.
Bathing Suit Invitations
Craft bathing suit invitations for party guests, using the colors of the high school or college that the graduate attended. On one piece of paper sketch out a basic bathing suit outline and trim off the excess. Give yourself enough space to write all the party details on this paper. With markers add details to the bathing suit, including tropical patterns. Glue the bathing suit to the other colored piece of paper. Tell guests that after a hot four years, it's time to relax in a cool way.
Graduation Cap Invitations
Plain black paper will serve as the basis for the cap. Trace the outline of the cap on the front and cut it out. Use ribbon or embroidery floss as the tassel on the cap. Decorate the back with stickers of bathing suits, brightly colored flowers, towels, sunscreen and other items that people might bring or see at the party.
