Preschool Graduation Cake Ideas

For each graduation hat cupcake, you'll need the cupcake, a graham cracker square, tinted frosting, a licorice rope and an M&M candy. The cupcake and graham cracker are iced with the tinted frosting, with the graham cracker going on top of the cupcake. The licorice rope creates the tassel and the M&M represents the button on top of the graduation cap.
School Bus
A school bus symbolizes the transition to elementary school. A large sheet cake serves as the base for the school bus. You can make a school bus template from thin cardboard to use as a guide to cut the cake into the bus shape. Simply lay the template on top of the cake and cut around it with a sharp knife. Once the excess cake is removed, you can add a layer of yellow frosting. Fondant works well to create little rectangle windows for the bus. After icing the cake and adding a decorative border, pipe on the letters of the alphabet or numbers. You can also use cookie cutters to cut out the letters and numbers from fondant.
