The "Nancy Drew" games are a series of interactive mystery-solving games. The player guides detective Nancy Drew's investigation by talking to the locals, exploring your surroundings and solving puzzles. These games can be a bit of a challenge especially for those who are playing for the first time. However, there are many places to find hints if you need them.


Make Use of In-Game Resources


In most games, Nancy keeps a notebook that keeps track of important information, shows what you have already done and provides information on what you still need to find out. Some games also have a checklist that tells you what actions you need to perform. If you are confused about what to do next, consult these resources. If you need more hints, call friends on Nancy's phone. Characters like Bess Marvin, George Fayne, Ned Nickerson and the Hardy Boys are usually available to call and they will sometimes provides hints.


Consult the Message Boards


The game's official website at Her Interactive includes an extensive message board community. You must sign up on the website to view these boards. Each game has its own section of hints that will lead you in the right direction but still let you figure it out by yourself. Hidden spoilers are included if you are absolutely stuck.


Use a Walkthrough


Full Walkthroughs are available on various websites. These will give you step by step instructions on complete the game. Some games include hidden easter eggs and some require you to perform certain tasks to earn rewards. For example, in "Legend of the Crystal Skull" Nancy will earn a star on her badge if she opens the hiccupping powder on the desk in Renee's room. Easter eggs are more difficult to find, so it isn't likely that you will stumble upon them. Some of them require you to dial specific numbers on the telephone.
