Pistol Rear Sight Adjusting Tool

A pistol rear sight tool will allow you to adjust the sights of the pistol. It will also give a faster method of removing old sites, install new ones or fine-tune the current sites without the use of a vice, which can often damage the sight or dovetail.

Sight Adjusting Tool

A sight adjusting tool holds the pistol to a frame-mounted stand. Universal and gun-specific tools have a guide that will allow for drilling and tapping the pistol to remove, add or adjust the sights.

Standard Method of Sight Adjustment

To change or adjust the sights on a pistol, the most common way is to place the pistol slide in a vice. Using a steel punch to strike the gun, sight and move the location in the dovetail. This method can also be used to remove the sight and install a new one.

Disadvantages

Use of a steel punch to strike the pistol site can easily damage the sights or the dovetail. It is much harder to obtain accuracy on the sites with this method.

Using a Sight Adjusting Tool

The use of sight adjustment tool provides for the fast removal of the current pistol sights and installation of new ones. The advantage lies in the fact the tool will not damage the slide or the sights.

Benefits

Use of a sight adjusting tool allows for more control in the change or removal of the pistol sights. This reduces the possibility of easily damaging the sights or the dovetail. It also gives a much better control over sight placement for better accuracy.
